Theatre Apparel Styles and Sizes

It is very important to understand how various styles are designed to fit. To that end, not all shirts (or any other piece of apparel) are intended to "fit" the same even if they have the same measurements. For example, our "Unisex Tees" have a classic, if not boxy, fit while some of our women's "Boyfriend" and jersey tees are scooped in at the sides and are intended to be very slim and fit snugly.

If something says "Runs true to size", we really mean that it runs true to size for the intended style and fit. Of course, you may have noticed that not all styles are intended for everyone. That's why someone should probably try to explain that to the muscle hunk on the beach trying to squeeze into a snug, fitted Medium-sized tee!

Here is a example showing two of our most popular shirts that both run "true to size" (for their intended style and size) yet have incredibly different dimensions and fits!

Visually, you can see the striking differences in the style and corresponding fit. In XS sizes, they have the same width at the arms but the women's jersey tee is going to scoop in at the waist to provide a snug fit. You can even visually see that it will be tighter across the shoulders. The differences become more pronounced in the larger sizes. In XL and 2XL sizes, there's a 5" different in width! That's pretty extreme and shows how important it is to factor the shirt's style into your purchase decision! Please don't simply order a Medium because your last t-shirt was a "medium".

It goes without saying that our suppliers try to provide accurate measurements for each garment in the size charts included with each product. Even so, you may find that your particular garment differs slightly. It is a standard in the industry that garments sizes have something called tolerance. This means that the sizes can always run +/- 1/2 an inch or +/- 1.2cm.

We know it's difficult to order items online. So, we suggest you pull out one of your favorite tees, carefully measure it then match the style to what we offer online before placing your order. This is important since each garment, pair or shoes, backpack and even a shower curtain is created specifically for each customer's unique order. Nothing is "stocked" and everything is printed on demand.

As a result, we are not able to accept returns due to the ordering the "wrong size" or "wrong color" because everything (i.e. shirt, leggings, hoodie, skirt, pair of shoes, backpack, mug, laptop sleeve, watches, etc.) you order was made for you and drop-shipped directly to you! Similarly, we are not able to cancel an order once the garment manufacturing and printing process has started since each item is custom created specifically for your order. Of course, that's what makes our theatre shirts and clothing items so special! Each item is made for YOU!

If your order is physically damaged during shipping or you were inadvertently shipped the incorrect size (i.e. you ordered an XL but were shipped an XS), we will gladly worked with our suppliers to replace it on your behalf!

If you see a design you like, but not a style, size or other apparel item that you think will fit you properly (e.g. you like the design that's available on a unisex tee but would like it on a women's "boyfriend" tee or skirt instead), please contact us online and let us know so we can offer it!
